A general engineer with a degree from the Institut Catholique des Arts & Métiers (ICAM) in Lille, with skills in hydraulics, mechanics, electricity, automation and civil engineering, Maxime has 20 years' experience.
After 3 years as an international solidarity volunteer in Haiti, he quickly specialized and focused his international career on hydroelectricity, renewable energies and hydraulic infrastructures (notably for irrigation).
He is involved at every level of a project, from planning and feasibility studies to site supervision, operation and training.
He is able to identify and characterize sites, define electromechanical systems for hydroelectric power plants (feasibility study, drafting of technical specifications), monitor and control work (rehabilitation of power plants in Haiti and Rwanda, and construction of power plants in Cameroon) and operate power plants (6 months' operation in Haiti - 3 years as engineering/operations interface at the Société d'Aménagement des Périmètres Hydro Agricole de l'Ile de la Réunion - 2 years as operations manager of a 1.5 MW power plant in Cameroon).
He is now also heavily involved in the whole process of developing small hydroelectric power plants as an IPP (independent producer).

Commissioned in 2018, each of these generators has already run for around 50,000 hours.
Thanks to their hard work, the operations team can rely on the high availability of the generators to meet their targets.

Sokkim Chhan

Steel construction manager

Presentation

Sokkhim worked for over 10 years with the industrial partner who built IED Invest Cambodia's gas generators.
He built the various components of the power plant.
When our partner's workshop closed, Sokkim joined the Sra Em operating team in 2020.
He is responsible for metal construction work (maintenance, repairs, new construction) on the gasifier, wood preparation and charcoal briquette production equipment.
Sokkhim is also in charge of the gasification system construction team as part of IED Invest's EPC contract.
For example, he built the first two IED Invest projects in Africa (Benin and Senegal) in Cambodia and installed them on site.
His daily contact with the operating teams gives him unique feedback, enabling him to suggest improvements in equipment design and construction, for greater robustness or ease of maintenance.

Biomass procurement manager

Sanh has been part of the IED Invest Cambodia workforce since 2016.
He first worked as Shift Manager on the Angkor Chum power plant, then on the Sra Em power plant in 2018.
He was also in charge of the team in charge of green coal production at the start-up of this activity.
Since 2017, he has been in charge of wood waste supplies for Sra Em's four gasifiers.
He supervises some fifteen employees in charge of receiving and checking the quality of the biomass delivered, stock management, fire protection and wood cutting.
Sanh is committed to ensuring the quality of incoming biomass, one of the keys to a gasification plant's performance.

Head of green charcoal briquette production

Bunthy first worked as an operator on the briquette production line, before taking over responsibility for this team in 2021.
Under his supervision, a team of fifteen operators produces 50 tonnes of briquettes a month, made from coal from the gasifiers.
The briquettes are sold to wholesalers, who then distribute the fuel to restaurants in Phnom Penh.
The quality of the briquettes and their low cost have enabled the company to develop a loyal clientele and add value to this by-product of gasification.
