Impacts and initiatives
Our initial activities in Côte d’Ivoire dates back to 2017, in the field of energy efficiency. In the early 2000s, we expanded into the rural electrification sector with the creation of SOPIE Geographic Information System (now CI-ENERGIE). Today, we are especially active in renewable energies and rural electrification. As project managers, we supported the construction of 16 solar power plants (ranging from 21 to 200kWp), medium/low voltage networks and associated public lighting. Additionally, we conducted technical studies for biomass power plants and detailed technical studies for the construction of decentralised production plants.
Team
Our permanent team consists of 5 people. The Ivorian subsidiary office hosts our technicians responsible for the construction and operation of biomass gasifier plants. From Abidjan, they extend their expertise throughout West and Central Africa.
Projects
- Electrification Works by Solar Power Plant: Conducted studies, developed tenders, and supervised electrification in 16 localities. Funded by the European Union, 2020-2023.
- Biomass Potential Analysis: Performed analysis, APS, APD studies, and prepared tender documents for selecting BOOT operators for high-power biomass power plants (> 20 MW). Funded by the European Union, 2020-2024.
- Decentralised Production Plants: Carried out detailed technical studies and developed tenders for constructing decentralized production plants using renewable energies (solar PV, with and without storage, and low-power biomass gasifier power plants), 2020-2024.
- SUNREF Scheme Technical Assistance: Provided technical assistance for the SUNREF scheme, facilitating loans and investment premiums from private banks for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy projects by private sector actors. AFD financing, 2022-2024.
- National Rural Electrification Master Plan: Developed the master plan on behalf of the Société des Energies de Côte d’Ivoire. CI-Energies financing, 2014-2015.
