History in the country
After a few years in Paris, IED established itself in the Lyon region in 2001. Here, we developed:
- A multidisciplinary team of experts, including engineers, economists, planners, and managers, who conduct studies and supervise energy infrastructure projects. – iED Consult
- An entity dedicated to the development and financing of renewable energy projects in rural areas. This initiative stems from the management team’s desire to transition from providing intellectual services to taking concrete action under our own responsibility. – iED Invest
- Activities focused on designing innovative, particularly digital, approaches. This division works in close synergy with our business expertise and offers numerous training courses to all stakeholders. – iED Digital & Training
Team
The Group’s General Direction, Finance and Administrative Department are based in Lyon, ensuring the coordination of projects and the management of a dozen locations in Africa and Asia.
Anchored here are our Business Divisions, which include Access to Energy Services, Electricity Systems, Biomass and EPC, Energy Transition and Planning, Renewable Energies, as well as the Information Systems and Training Department. Our organization promotes synergy and innovation, encouraging exchanges between teams and business lines. Strategic functions such as fundraising for IED Invest, research and development, and high-level strategic planning are all conducted at our head office.
Projects
The headquarters team oversees approximately forty ongoing projects and supports the operation of the Group’s electricity production and distribution facilities. They work in close synergy with the 150 employees based in various local locations, divided between the activities of iED Consult and iED Invest.
