Context

The Electricity Network Interconnection Project (RIS/RIN) between Cameroon and Chad (PIRECT) is a transformative and integrative initiative designed to accelerate Cameroon’s structural development and enhance regional integration. This project aims to unify the electricity sectors of both countries, fostering connectivity similar to advancements in telecommunications.

Specifically, the project entails the construction of a 225 kV transmission line stretching approximately 530 km from the Nachtigal upstream power station to the new Wouro Soua substation near Ngaoundéré. Additionally, it involves the development of four new substations: three at 225 kV (Yoko, Tibati, and Wouro Soua) and one at 400 kV (Ntui).
