iED Invest engaged its sister company for the development and construction of its first gas plant in Cambodia, overseeing the project up until its commissioning.
Project development
- Site Identification: Analyzing biomass resources and securing land.
- Legal Approvals: Obtaining necessary approvals from relevant authorities.
- Fundraising and Financing: Establishing the financial framework for the project.
- Technical Studies: Designing the power plant through detailed technical studies.
- Tender Preparation: Preparing consultation files and awarding contracts
Supervision of the construction of the plant and assistance with operation
The gas generating plant includes a gas production unit (rice husk – 200kW), a generator set (70kW), and a dual fuel generator set (130kW). iED Consult provided:
- Work control
- Commissioning
- Monitoring of operations during the first 6 months
The energy produced is sold to a local distributor. 6 months after commissioning in July 2012, the number of distributor customers increased from 400 to 1000.
