Energy transition and planning

We assist national institutions, development banks, and regional and international authorities in achieving sustainable development goals, including the Paris Agreements. Our support encompasses strategic consulting, the formulation of energy transition policies, investment planning, and implementation strategies.

Energy modelling

Our multidisciplinary teams offer comprehensive modelling of energy systems at the territorial, national, or sub-regional level. We cover all aspects, including demand assessment (for electricity, cooking, industry, or transport), prospective modelling for medium- to long-term planning, and scenario development based on political commitments. These studies deliver a quantified and objective view of energy trajectories for each sector and the country as a whole.

Energy policy documents

We contribute to drafting white papers and policy briefs, and facilitate dialogue among stakeholders in our areas of intervention, including institutions, civil society actors, and the private sector. Additionally, we engage with cooperation institutions and remain actively involved in strategic committees, such as those of the French Global Environment Facility.

Electrical Systems Planning

Electrical systems are among the most complex to model within energy systems. Our core expertise lies in modeling electricity demand, which is deeply rooted in development and societal contexts. Balancing supply and demand, and planning investments in production, requires sophisticated mathematical models like GAP. Our expertise enables us to develop low-cost expansion plans for energy production, ensuring controlled energy costs while meeting quality and energy mix standards. Our teams are adept with leading software for network studies, ensuring the seamless integration of new power plants into the transmission network and maintaining supply security for all consumers. As pioneers in rural electrification planning, we developed GEOSIM, a tool now used in over thirty countries.
