Context

The Electricity Access Improvement Project is a key initiative in the government’s strategy to achieve universal and affordable electricity access for Senegalese households, both rural and urban, by 2025.

As part of this project, iED Consult was appointed as the Consulting Engineer to oversee and supervise the construction of distribution networks in the northern regions of Senegal, including Dakar, Thiès, Diourbel, Saint Louis, Louga, and Matam.

Activities & Results

As part of this project, iED Consult carried out:

  • Preliminary design studies, preparation of Call for Tender Documents (DAOs), and support for contract awards (estimated duration: 6 months).
  • Supervision and monitoring of the extension and densification works for the Medium and Low Voltage distribution network, including 438 MV/LV substations, 389 km of MV network, 1,279 km of LV networks, and approximately 100,000 connections (estimated duration: 30 months).
