Context
The aim of our support to Beninese institutions is to advance off-grid electrification (EHR) by developing policies and frameworks that create a favourable political, technical, institutional, and financial environment for the growth of small private enterprises.
Activities & results
As part of this project, iED Consult carried out:
- Formulation of an EHR policy and development plan, including the creation of an institutional and regulatory framework.
- Development of technical and environmental standards that incorporate gender and social inclusion considerations.
- Capacity-building activities for institutions (ME, DGE, ARE, ABERME, UCPDER) and the private sector in Benin, including ongoing coaching of government structures.
- Organization of training courses for both EHR institutions and the private sector.
